First eleven minute track has the vocals mixed almost completely out and is super drum forward - which makes for a listening experience that is as awesome as it is annoying. Presumably this one is from SF but I'm not sure and someone on the internet is bound to (welcome to) correct me. The next three cuts have a way hotter mix and the vocals are straight fire and maybe these are from LA but also maybe not all from the same show even though the tape says they are. Damn BLUE CHEER ruled.

For those (like me) who didn't already know, THE IDOLS were a late 1980s NYC blip that featured a pre-LONDON COWBOYS Barry Jones and Steve Dior along with Jerry Nolan (NY DOLLS, HEARTBREAKERS) and Arthur Kane (NY DOLLS, CORPSE GRINDERS), though they were likely more famous as the backing band on for 'Sid Sings'-era Sid Vicious.

So I thank the Technical Gods and I settle into THE STOOGES. "Raw Power" is the opener, the version of "Gimme Danger" gives me chills...listen until the end please.
