SEX PISTOLS

artist: SEX PISTOLS (London, ENGLAND)
venue: Nashville Room
location: London, ENGLAND
date: 03 April 1976
length: 62 minutes

HERE
I can't imagine that every Sex Pistols show is not already on the internet somewhere...but here's another one. Never Mind The Bollocks is a solid rock record but so many of the live artifacts sound so horribly boring.

About 15 minutes of interview audio, and Bolan playing three tracks solo in the studio. "Spaceball Ricochet" is one of the greatest songs, though this version is perhaps only notable as a "fans only" artifact.

venue: Magic Bus
location: Ferndale, Michigan, USA
date: 01 July 1995
length: 53 minutes

HERE
Very good review of this band's final recording here. Ron Asheton and Niagara from DESTROY ALL MONSTERS...it's weird to think about a band with DEAD BOYS and STOOGES members wailing away at under the radar bar shows in the '90s.

CRUCIFUCKS

artist: CRUCIFUCKS (Lansing, Michigan, USA)
venue: The National Mall
location: Washington, District of Columbia, USA
date: 03 July 1983
length: 31 minutes

Worth it just to hear Doc snarl "Cops For Fertilizer" at a bunch of civilians. Take a minute to conceptualize this set, when and where it was recorded, and then reassess what is punk.

venue: Caddyshack
location: Catasaque, Pennsylvania, USA
date: 19 January 1986
length: 15 minutes

Nice to hear someone apparently shouting "Fuck This!" about one minute into the set.  I don't know anything of this band except that this shit rules, would serious turn heads if they were from UK circa 1983...and maybe they're from the Lehigh Valley area.

PLASMATICS

artist: PLASMATICS (New York City, New York, USA)
venue: ??
location: Hamburg, GERMANY
date: ?? 1982

The recording is pretty rough, but the mix and the physical vitality of the cassette both settle in at manageable levels around "Squirm," and the band is shit hot through it all (of course).

EATER

artist: EATER (London, ENGLAND)
venue: ??

CHUMBAWUMBA

artist: CUMBAWUMBA (Burnley, Lancashire, ENGLAND)
venue: Brookwood Hall
location: Dayton, Ohio, USA
date: 18 September 1992

Multi-track live recording from around the time of Shhh (obviously), but the track listing provided with this pro-replicated cassette is completely incorrect.

THE NORMALS

artist: THE NORMALS (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA)
venue:
location: New York City, New York, USA)
date: ?? 1979
length: 76 minutes

HERE
File includes a ripping live set presumably recorded in New York City, several studio cuts (source unknown), ten minutes of radio interviews, and a few radio promos and ads from WPIX in New York. A killer listen throughout, even if I can't identify many of the tracks.

UNION CARBIDE PRODUCTIONS

artist: UNION CARBIDE PRODUCTIONS (Göteborg, SWEDEN)
venue: Pukkelpop Festival
location: Leopoldsburg, BELGIUM
date: 27 August 1988
length: 42 minutes

HERE
There are moments where this sounds like SAMHAIN doing STOOGES covers, and the live capture makes the guitars sound especially fucked.

PAGANS

artist: PAGANS (Cleveland, Ohio, USA)
venue: Pop Shop
location: Cleveland, Ohio, USA
date: 26 March 1983
length: 30 minutes

From the dude in the crowd yelling "You're A SINNER!!" in the first three seconds to "Six And Change" descending into a total mess at the end of the recording, this set is a total screamer. There was one more song, but the tape cut off before it started.

WAYNE COUNTY

artist: WAYNE COUNTY & THE ELECTRIC CHAIRS (London, ENGLAND)
venue: ?
location: Cologne, W. GERMANY
date: ?? December 1978
length: 29 minutes

HERE
Hard to tell how the band was billed as WAYNE COUNTY or simply THE ELECTRIC CHAIRS, but the set (which sounds like it was recorded from radio, mostly that subtle static-y tape hiss masked as a whine) is screaming, and "Man Enough To Be Woman" has got to be one of the toughest NY/London punk '70s tracks ever. Also, because tape traders are an odd bunch - two presumably rehearsal tracks from FREE are tacked onto the end of the set. The "Fire & Water" track is legit.

venue: ??
location: ?? FRANCE
date: ?? 1983
length: 32 minutes

HERE
"I don't how many of you understand everything or if you're just being polite"
After that piece of wisdom, Lemmy pretty clearly introduces "Turn You Round Again" as "Turn You Down Again," which is noteworthy only to extreme geeks and/or completists.

SUN RA + HIS INFINITY ENSEMBLE

artist: SUN RA (Birmingham, Alabama, USA)
venue: Soundscape
location: New York City, New York, USA
date: 11 November 1979
length: 26 minutes

As the cover indicates, this release is also meant to feature a 1977 performance. Unfortunately, a manufacturing defect rendered the A-side essentially unlistenable.
